GIMME RADIO Offers Touring Bands Guest Spots In Wake Of Coronavirus Pandemic

Tours canceled, festivals postponed, bands stranded in foreign countries, and facing quarantine, records sitting in warehouses with no one to ship them, boxes of t-shirts sitting in rehearsal spaces unsold. These are some painful times for music. As the Coronavirus continues to wreak havoc on the metal world, GIMME RADIO is taking action.

In an effort to keep artists in front of their fans and help ease some of the financial losses, GIMME is extending an offer to any touring metal band that has been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic to host a radio show. Band members can create the show from the comfort and safety of their own homes. Bands can then connect/communicate with their fans in the live chat feed — fans that were hoping to see these bands on the road before the tours and shows were canceled. And best of all, GIMME will help bands sell merch, CDs, vinyl and even accept donations directly from their fans.

About GIMME RADIO:

Founded by digital music veterans from Apple Music, Google Play, Beats Music and Napster, GIMME RADIO builds highly engaged communities for the passionate fan on a genre-by-genre basis. The company launched its first community in June of 2017: the world’s first 24/7 metal-focused service. Fans tune in to hear world class DJs playing metal they can’t hear anywhere else – for free. And GIMME RADIO allows the fans and the DJs/artists to communicate directly with one another in a live feed, real time, as the music is being played. Its roster of 70-plus DJs includes Dave Mustaine of Megadeth, Jessica Pimentel (star of Orange Is The New Black) and Randy Blythe of Lamb Of God among many others.
