Interview with Preston Roehrs of Unreasonable Human

Q. Who are you and what do you do?
A. Unreasonable Human. We play heavy, groovy, thrashy, meaty, throbbing, chunky, sweaty metal.
Q. Please give us a brief history of your band.
A. We've been a band for about 2.5 years, and we've been playing shows for a little over 2 years.
Q. Discography starting with your most current album?
A. Our debut 5 song EP will be released in about a month.
Q. How has your music grown since you started playing?
A. The newer songs we've been writing are a lot more technically demanding. I, Branden, and Erik all hate each other because one of us will come up with a riff, and we all say, that's a badass riff, but fuck you for making me have to learn it! Haha
Q. Is your family supportive?
A. I think they approve of what we're doing, but not necessarily the style of music we play. For my family at least.
Q. What is your favorite part of your career?
A. All the friends we've made that are either fans or members of other bands. The Colorado metal scene is a big brotherhood. We all support each other and look after one another.
Q. What is your biggest pet peeve?
A. Having to work a day job.
Q. What projects are you currently working on?
A. We're currently writing for a full length album. We'll start recording towards the end of this summer before our drummer goes off to Berkeley College of Music.
Q. What kind of challenges did you face in this project?
A. We've been having a bit of trouble getting the artwork finished for our EP. Other than that, things went fairly smoothly for us even though for most of us, it was our first time recording anything. We're all pleased with how it turned out though.
Q. How is this project different form things you have done in the past?
A. It's professional sounding! Haha no more 1 mic in the middle of a room and all point our amps at it.
Q. What was your favorite part of the process?
A. Hearing it all come together. Having it go from raw drums, then layering on the guitars, bass, and vocals was really cool to hear the tracks as a whole build up to what it is now. Travis Weickum from Sound Legion Audio did an awesome job!
Q. Are you currently on tour?
A. No. Although, we are looking to do some short tours this summer.
Q. What is your favorite part of performing?
A. Playing in front of a bunch of excited fans, a show always feels better when the crowd is really into it, and we can feed off their energy.
Q. Which parts have the most personal meaning to you?
A. All of it! Anytime we get to play for someone that's never heard of us before is a privilege.
Q. Most memorable experience in your career?
A. For me, it was our first encore at our first headlining show at Hodi's Half Note.
Q. Favorite article of clothing?
A. Black Levi's 511's.
Q. What are your plans for the future?
A. Get out on tour so we can get our music out there and reach more fans!
Q. Best advice you have ever gotten?
A. "To play a wrong note is insignificant. To play without passion is inexcusable" -Ludwig Van Beethoven
Q. Who on your current crew is the hardest worker?
A. We all try to work together as a team.
Q. Who do you want to say thank you to the most?
A. Our fans! We couldn't do it without any if you!!
Q. Do you have anything to say to your fans?
A. Spread the word! If you like us and have friends that you think would
Q. Where can we find more information about you?
