West Coast death metal cult, ASCENDED DEAD, today unleashes Live Apocalypse through Carbonized Records.
Formed in 2011, ASCENDED DEAD emerged with a singular vision of death metal as something dark, primitive, chaotic, and visceral. Inspired by early Possessed, Necrovore, and Venom, the band established itself through a succession of local performances and underground releases.
Following the recording of their debut full-length, Abhorrent Manifestation, ASCENDED DEAD expanded beyond its Southern California origins, with members based throughout Southern California and the Pacific Northwest. Released in 2017, Abhorrent Manifestation brought the band to national and international audiences. Its follow-up, Evenfall Of The Apocalypse (2023), represented the fullest realization yet of the band’s intended sound: dark, chaotic death metal without limitations.
ASCENDED DEAD has performed extensively throughout North America, including a full continental US tour in 2024, alongside European tours in 2019, 2023, and 2024. In 2025, the band’s reach expanded further with performances across Southeast Asia and Australia. Festival appearances have included Famine Fest, Covenant Fest, California Deathfest, Total Death Over Mexico, Invoking Black Death Fest, Maryland Deathfest, Kill-Town Death Fest, Metal Magic, Chaos Descends, Mass Destruction, and Horrid Days Festival, among others.
Recorded directly from the soundboard during the band’s American Apocalypse Tour in May 2024 and subsequently mixed and mastered for release, Live Apocalypse captures ASCENDED DEAD in the raw environment where the band’s music has always been most at home. The album also documents a return to the old Marshall sound of the band’s formative years while retaining the increasingly violent and unrestrained approach developed across its two full-length records. The recording preserves the sound, atmosphere, and momentum of ASCENDED DEAD as it existed onstage that night.
